Hello Santas and Friends.

Last week I had the pleasure of making my annual visit to the Toy Industry of America’s “TOY FAIR” in New York City.   Although the festivities and events covered almost an entire week, the main focus was the four days of Toy Fair at the Javitz Convention Center.

While there I had the opportunity to visit some of the over 3000 exhibitors, who offered over 100,000 products (7,000 new ones) that will be on the store shelves this coming year.

During the next week I will give you some insight into the many products that were displayed, sampled, promoted and premiered to the over 10,000 buyers who attended.

Speaking of attendees, the show also brings in lots of celebrities, from Michael Caine dropping in to promote the new Disney/Pixar “Cars” movie, to Ian McShane, checking out the life-sized, Lego-sculpture of  Captain Jack Sparrow. (McShane portrays the infamous pirate, Black Beard, in next summers Disney 3-D release: “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”   We were also treated by other celebrities ranging from the Lennon Sisters, Janet and Kathy, promoting their line of dolls, to the Rockettes in Christmas attire as they opened the four day show.

Hot items this year range from the traditional Hot-Wheels and Barbies, with new features that will surely appeal to the kids, the the latest in new RC controlled helicopters and vehicles, plus hundreds of new games and applications for the i-pads, computers and game systems.   Even Play-School has a special play toy that Mom can insert her I-phone  or  I-Pod Touch, so the baby can play with it!

And I will have some info on a few Christmas related items includeing what the Elves are doing.  Did you know that before there was “Elf on the Shelf,” there were two other Elves on the Market?  Well all three were at the Toy Fair and I will give you updates on what they are all about.  You will want to know this as the kids will be telling you about them!

Of course, if you can’t wait for my reviews, you are most welcome to visit the  TIA|Toy Fair web site at:
